Happy 2020! The new year is well underway, the Christmas board-games have been put back in the cupboard until next year and the resolutions have begun – How are those going by the way? Whether you have stuck to them religiously, already given up or trying to power through, what better way to celebrate the start of the new decade then to freshen up or even completely change your home interior and lighting!
We are firm believers that being pleased and content with how your environment or home is looking is key to a clear, positive and productive mood, which is why this blog post is dedicated to new lighting trends that we believe you will enjoy throughout this decade.
In terms of interior trends over the coming years expect to see a bit of everything, from bold patterns and quirky lighting fixtures to sustainable and conscious living, with off-trend styles becoming increasingly popular. Below we have chosen three key trends that will play an important part in this decade.
Gold tones and soft finishes
No longer glossy, the trend is all about the soft finishes from matt black and brushed silvers, with gold and brass being the most popular choice. We love this trend and believe it to be sophisticated and versatile, holding the ability to be implemented into any room you wish. From wall lights to lamps, we have created a selection of our favourite soft finished lights for you below.
This style is sleek and elegant, adding a bit of something different to your home. Coming in an array of different designs and colours we feel that this can be added to any styled home. These lights can be paired with both neutral tones, to help emulate the warmth or darker interiors for a striking and dramatic effect.
The gold tones add a warming glow especially when mixed with the white (3, 8, 11, 12, 14). With wall lights being used to give a sense of balance to your home or used to highlight certain things such as paintings. The matt blacks add sophistication whilst the brushed silvers help to give of an industrial tone.
Large Lights/ Statement pieces
Lighting isn’t purely functional but rather used to enhance your style and home and this decade is all about big and bold lighting choices. Working to catch peoples eye we have selected some of our large lights that we think you will fall in love with just like we have.
From more simple and sophisticated lights to quirky and grand, these larger pendants will make sure to grab people’s attention. These sparkled and extravagant chandeliers (1, 5, 9) would work perfectly in a hallway or entrance whilst the glass pendants (3, 4, 8) add a subtler glow to your home whilst still turning heads.
On the more unusual and quirky side are 10 and 6 which we think would make a perfect addition to a bedroom, with our all-time favourite (12). This is an absolutely gorgeous light which we believe to be highly unique and interesting. With varying colours, this light would work with many interiors, we think it looks stunning in darker settings, like shown above in front of this dark green background.
The sharp edges and diamond like features are what make up these geometric pendants of which will be a big addition to this decade. These cage- styled lights are different to any previous trends which is what makes them so interesting. Below we have selected some of the geometric lights that we offer.
We think that the single pendants would make a perfect addition to bathrooms or bedrooms, bringing about a touch of quirkiness and modernity. Whilst the multiple light pendants would work perfectly hanging low over a breakfast or dining table to add a decorative tone to your homes. To make this trend more creative, why not add a vintage filament bulb to tie together both modern styles with those of more vintage looks.
Below we have included the links to all the lights in this post, we hope you have a good week and don’t forget to visit us in store for some amazing lights and home furnishings.
